What is ClientScanner?

ClientScanner is a software as a service web application designed to help businesses scan against Sanctions, Politically Exposed Persons (PEP), Adverse news and ID validity for due diligence and compliance needs. It also allows you to risk rate your clients.

What is ID validation?

ID validation is a checksum that is done against what an ID number should consist of according to the South African Government. This is not checked against the Home Affairs database.

How do I sign up?

You can sign up for ClientScanner by clicking on the "Sign Up" button on our homepage. Follow the prompts to create your account.

Is my data secure?

Absolutely! All data is stored securely and all your client data is only accessible by you.

How do I update my payment information?

To update your payment details, log in to your ClientScanner account, navigate to the 'Profile' section, and update your payment information.

My payment didn't go through. What should I do?

If your payment didn't go through, please review your payment information for any errors or outdated details. If the problem persists, please contact our support team.

What is your refund policy?

We do not expect you to pay for something you do not need. To update your payment details, log in to your ClientScanner account, navigate to the 'Profile' section, and cancel your subscription. For anything paid in advance you can just contact our support team for the difference.

How do I start a new scan?

Once you're logged in, navigate to the 'New Client' button and input the details of the individual/entity you wish to scan. After that choose the scans you wish to do and click 'Scan Client' to initiate the process.

Your software does not do scanning against home affairs and check for proof of address - don't I need this?

Nope - you do not. Some software providers would have you think otherwise to buy their wares. This is a nice to have only. This is an unnecessary step if you already have verified the client's identity with a certified copy or if you've seen it or if it has been confirmed by any other person/entity/3rd party.

What Sanctions List do you scan against?

We scan against the UN Consolidated Sanctions List. The ONLY list you have to scan against in terms of FICA - don't listen to other providers trying to sell you their expensive software.

What is an Adverse news scan?

Usually conducted with EDD - Adverse news, sometimes known as negative news, refers to information or news articles that provide details about potentially harmful or undesirable actions associated with an individual or organization. This could relate to criminal activities, financial mismanagement, regulatory violations, or any negative event that might pose a reputational risk.

What is a PEP scan?

Usually conducted with EDD - Usually A PEP (Politically Exposed Person) scan checks if an individual holds or has held a prominent public position in government or linked to government that could potentially be abused for money laundering or corruption.

How do I reset my password?

If you forget your password, click on the 'Forgot Password' link on the login page and follow the instructions to reset it.

How long does it take to receive support?

We aim to respond to all support queries within one to two business days. For any urgent matters please call us directly via our phone number.

I found a bug. How do I report it?

If you encounter a bug, please report it to our support team by emailing info@clientscanner.co.za . We appreciate your help in improving ClientScanner.

How do I upgrade my plan?

To upgrade, log in to your account, go to your 'Profile' section, and select the plan you wish to upgrade to. Follow the prompts to complete the transaction.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription by navigating to your 'Profile' section in your account and clicking 'Cancel Subscription.' Follow the prompts to complete the cancellation process.
